Hi! My name is Mel. I am a freelance artist since 2012. In this blog, I will share my process on how I illustrate a scene from a clients description.
The client sent me the description of the scene. It’s up to me to interpret the scene in my head. Sometimes the client tells me the specific things he wants to see on the illustration. As an artist, you need to be cooperative and pay attention to the details. Clients appreciate that.
Then I sketch the scene based on my initial interpretation of the description. I send the sketch for approval then the client either approves or requests revisions.
After that, I will ink and then color the artwork. Then I will send the colored art for approval. At this point, if the revisions should be very minimal like color change or minor tweaks.
Lastly, when everything is approved, the illustration is done.
